Am seeking info on my grandfathers, Thomas Kamas and Joe Surovik, who came from Moravia to American in 1893.
They came through Ellis Island and settled in Texas.

Do you have any clues as to the names of the villages they may have come from? Have you searched the Ellis Island records for village names? Have you looked at tombstones to see if a village name is listed, or contacted the churches they may have attended to see if there are any records that might indicate a village name. Another approach is to see if there were other Moravian families that settled in the same town in Texas. They may have come from the same place in Moravia. Is there any other information you can provide to help us with this search?

Grandfather Kamas came from Katharince, (Katharsne) (Osterreich) Moravia, leaving Hamburg on March 12, 1893 on the ship Dania arriving New York. He came with his father, Stefan, mother, Rosine (Rosina, Rozina) Bliznak Kamas, his brothers Jan and Franz and baby sister, Rosa. I believe he was baptised in the Catholic church in Prague, but am not certain.
Grandfather Surovik came from the village of Ublo Moravia. I have not searched the Ellis Island record for the village names but will do so. Thank you.
