Oldrich Suchanek

I am attemtping to find out any information on my father Oldrich Suchanek – born May 26th, 1914 and emigrated to Canada in 1939. Served in the Czech army from 1936 to 1939. He was born in Kovac, East Bohemia. He had two sisters (Jozka and Marta – both deceased). Last name of Jozka was Vavrova. Any suggetions on where to begin?
