Peter Chyle or Heley Information

Peter Chyle born 1812 in Bohemia is my third great grandfather. He and his family came to Hamilton, Ontario, Canada in 1856. The Spring of 1859 the family moved to Spillville, Iowa. Peter bought land in Iowa in 1865. I can not find him in the 1870 census. The rest of the family appears to have moved to Wahpeton, Richland County, ND, USA in 1879.

How do I search for Peter in Canada? I need to search for a ship registry from Hamilton. Peter and Anna had a daughter born in Canada.

What could have happen in Peter between 1865 and 1870? Where do I search?

This information for Peter and Anna came from a historical book of settlers for Liberty Grove Township, Richland County, North Dakota USA. I have not verified all this information and so I’m working to do that first. Thanks, Darwin
