Beginner's Czech Language and Culture
Beginner’s Czech Language and Culture
Vítáme Vás! (We welcome You!) In this online class, students will learn to read, write, and speak in Czech. Join us for our debut session of Beginner’s Czech Language & Culture class hosted by the Czechoslovak Genealogical Society International and Anna Cooková Czech Communications!
Classes will begin on Monday, March 13, 2017 and continue each Monday and Wednesday from 10:00am CST until 11:30am through Wednesday, April 19th.
Classes will be hosted on GoToWebinar and you will be able to attend by using your computer. You will receive an email with the link to each session. Simply click the link and you will be directed to the “classroom” for the session. It’s as easy as that! You will see other students and your instructor as you follow along in the workbook materials and complete practice exercises as you lean about the Czech language.
Mondays & Wednesdays * March 13th, 2017 – April 19th, 2017
The maximum class size for this course will be 10 students. That means you will get lots of individual attention and practice. No other purchases are necessary as the course materials will be provided to you in advance of each session.
Instructor Anna Cooková has been offering Community Courses in Czech Language & Culture since 2009 in partnership with such organizations as the Wisconsin Indianhead Technical Collete, the University of Wisconsin, Sheboygan, the T.G. Massaryk Czech School and The Chicago Temple.
Since 2012 she has been offering private online Czech lessons in an effort to reach out across the United States and even to Americans living in the Czech Republic. In 2013 she was awarded a grant by the Czech government to go to Prague to attend a Czech teachers´ seminar for Czech teachers in expatriate communities. In 2015 she became a Registered Court Interpreter for the State of Illinois Courts and has been involved with the Bohemian Lawyers´ Association of Chicago for several years. In 2016 she attended the 5th annual Czech Teachers´ conference of North America at the Czech Embassy in Washington, D.C. and was the only teacher in attendance offering Czech via Skype.
This is a “Pilot Special”. It is the first time CGSI and Anna Cookova have partnered together to offer this opportunity to our members. And that means a special price! Normally this course has a price of $300 for the 18 hours of classroom time. But, because this is our pilot or introductory offer, you will be able to attend for the low price of just $200 for CGSI members, or $225 for non-CGSI participants.
