Kocurek or Koczurek likely in Slovakia

Can anyone help me with what appears to be a puzzle with the old Slovak or Hungarian County names? I am using FamilySearch.org; Slovakia; Slovakia, Church and Synagogue Books, 1592-1910 and Slovakia, Census, 1869. The Slovakia Church and Synagogue Books list many more counties than what seem to have actually existed. In fact it appears that many of the places listed as Counties in The Church & Synagogue Books are actually only villages. The reason I am trying to make sense of this is to try and correlate records between the Church Books and The Census Records. I am also using the web site of Juraj Cisarik, which was featured in the June 2014 issue of the CGSI journal. Cisarik lists all of the current counties and the old names. These agree with the County names of the Census Records, but not the Church Books which as I stated before, seem to include many village names as Counties. I would appreciate some help in understanding this. You may e-mail me directly at: jllaboss@telus.net Thank you, Jim LaBossiere

Cynadr/Cinader/Zinadr Vitus

Hi, I have found the children of Vitus Cynadr in the Prachatice District, Chroboly parish (Book 3 Image 19 is his first son that I know of--Mathias). It appears that Vitus was b in 1708 in the village of Lazistka (Gaysbuhl). I found this info from that record, but I have been unable to find any birth or marriage record for Vitus. Would anyone have any suggestions where else to look besides Chroboly parish? I tried Franatoly, but the records don't start until 1756. I looked in Prachatice and didn't find him. He married Catharina ?. Thank you for any suggestions you can provide. Kathi

Nossek, Rebro, Vitopil, Repal, Elsner, Essner

I am seeking information about the above names. Karl Nossek died in Germany. His family immigrated in the early 1900s and settled in Texas. Rebro lived in Austria or Hungary. Vitopil (Vytopyl?), Repal (Rypyl?), Elsner and Essner were from Moravia. They also immigrated about the same time and settled in Texas. Any information previous to immigration would be helpful.

Kolarik

I am searching for the place of origin for my ancestor John (Jan) Kolarik. He was born on May 16, 1840 or even possibly in 1841 in the modern day Czech Republic. In all of the American records regarding him, he is mentioned of being born in "Bohemia", but unfortunately that leaves hundreds of villages to possibly be his hometown. John immigrated between 1867 and 1869. In 1871, John married Theresa Beck at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church at Greenstreet in Manitowoc County, Wisconsin. On John's marriage record, his parents are listed as Adalbert (Vojtech) and Marie Kolarik. This is all of the information on the ancestor that I am desperate to find. If anyone could possibly lead me in the right direction to finding him, it would truly be greatly appreciated.
