CGSI focuses on the areas of present-day Czech Republic and Slovakia. This includes Czech (Bohemian), German-Bohemian (Böhmisch), Hungarian, Jewish, Moravian, Rusyn (Ruthenian), Silesian, and Slovak ancestry.

CGSI has over 2,000 members residing in the United States, Canada, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and other countries, providing a vast networking opportunity to learn and share information, and connect with fellow members.

The 2021 CGSI Genealogical & Cultural Conference will be held virtually from October 11-16, 2021 with the theme of "Celebrating Connections".

The conference is organized with three levels of participation to give you access to our speakers’ expertise, the opportunity to connect electronically with other participants, enjoy special programming the week of the conference, and the ability to take up to six months to watch the 50 presentations.
