With more information coming online and greater access to records, there’s never been a better time to research your Czech and Slovak ancestors. This session provided an in-depth look at the top web sites you need to consult when researching ancestors from the Czech Republic and Slovakia. We reviewed the best free and subscription-based sites for locating records, maps, networking with fellow researcher, and tracking down information abroad.
Facebook for Genealogists, by Katie Vogel
This session began with the basics about Facebook registration and privacy issues, especially for those of us who have yet to create a Facebook page, Then Katie explained how to make the most of your Facebook page by creating Family Group Pages and using filters to find relatives on the other side of the pond.
