Hi Joyce,
The change of the surname from Becwar (Bečvář) to Cooper would make sense because it means a cooper profession in Czech. There is a family tree on Ancestry (maybe it's yours) and according to this tree, Anton's family would originate from Pisek, CR. The Pisek records (chronicle, extra notes in the records) might give another clues. The tree contains some info related to the birth of their son, which could be verified in Prague records. If you know which part of Prague, it would be easier to search for birth records of their children and go from there. Here is a link to Prague's records - there are many parishes http://www.ahmp.cz/index.html?mid=75. We could also discuss your ancestry at one of the CGSI quarterly online sessions. Watch under News (top right) for the next one in August. IB
