Description

I HAVE BEEN RESEARCHING MY FATHER’S FAMILY; SPECIFICALLY, JAN AND MARIA KRIZ, MY GREAT, GREAT GRANDPARENTS WHO ARRIVED IN BALTIMORE IN 1870 AND MOVED TO AND LIVED IN CLEVELAND OHIO. ALL OF THE CENSUS RECORDS LISTED SHOW “BOHEMIA”, BUT I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO LOCATE THE VILLAGE OF ORIGIN. MY FATHER HAD MENTIONED PLZEN AS THE THE AREA THEY WERE FROM, BUT I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO VERIFY THAT WITH A BONAFIDE EUROPEAN RECORD. I DID HAVE SOME HELP TRYING TO RESEARCH CHURCH RECORDS BUT THAT TURNED INTO A DEAD END. MARIA’S SURNAME WAS LEHECKA BUT I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND A RECORD OF HER OVERSEAS EITHER. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

I have a great grandmother named Kriz and her family is from around Hvozdany, Bubovice and Pribram. Those are near Plzen. The Lehecka’s are listed in some of the records in Procevily which is in the Bubovice area. I believe you know to use the archive on Ebadatela.cz for them.

Do you have their birth dates? Catholic? Names and birth dates of the children they arrived with?
