KUBIK, YELINCK/YELINEK, TRULAS/THRULOS/THIULOS/TRUEHART, CARPENTER -West Springfield Mass/Menominee Mich.
Seeking information and anyone with family connections to the KUBIK families of West Springfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts beginning in 1870’s, possible connection with Menominee Michigan.
Cigarmakers living in Merrick neighborhood of West Springfield. Head of family: Frank (1832-1907) born in Bohemia, father’s name possibly Martin. Maiden name and first name of Frank’s wife(s) listed differently on every single record found: Mary/Marion Anna/ Josephine – TRULAS/THRULOS/THIULOS/TRUEHART, CARPENTER.
Frank’s son Joseph (1868-1951) married Anna Yelinck (1871-1939) they had 7 or 8 children. Another of Frank’s children, Amos (1870-1961), was Town Crier in Provincetown, Massachusetts for 20+years.
1873 and earlier living in Bohemia/Austria – articles on Amos Kubik indicate living near Prague; village possibly named Scholan or Krakovece; Amos is quoted as saying his mother is of nobility that was broken up after war and father a commoner. William’s naturalization (birth January 1872) states place as Krakovece – there is no such place that I can find. Amos’s naturalization papers state place as Scolchan. Possible that Scolchan is Sedlcany in Central Bohemia south of Prague.
