Description

Looking for any info on Drabora family, particularly Marie, born Bohemia and lived in Cook County, Illinois. Returned to Bohemia prior to WWI with son, Jan K Maly (James Charles Maly) born 1911, and then returned after WWI.  Found an entry from July 7, 1921 Red Star, Holland-American, NY, for Marie Drabora (under “D”) and Jan Maly (under “M”) in passenger list. Any info appreciated.

There is quite a bit of information for James on FamilySeach.org and Find-A-Grave including a death record (8/13/1979) and a request for a military headstone application.

There is also a death record for Marie (2/28/1961) but would need to confirm if this is the same person that you are looking for. Happy hunting!

Hey, Brian, welcome to CGSI!  I hope you will find the information especially in the digital library helpful in your research and you will be a member for many years to come!

I searched for Marie Drabora in Denni hlasatel but did not find any listing.  However, I went to Ancestry and found a variety of items for Marie Drabora/Maly.  For example, the WWII draft registration for son, James Charles of 2724 S Lombard Ave, Berwyn, IL lists Mrs Marie Maly as his mother.  Do you think this is the right family?

If you don't have an Ancesty account, I'll be happy to look up a few things in the census, etc. for you.
