All data collected about you can be viewed by logging in to CGSI.org and navigating to your Member profile. All online CGSI Shop orders placed by you via the website can be viewed by logging in to CGSI.org and navigating to the Orders tab on your member profile under "Member Home."

Please keep in mind that if you directly disclose personally identifiable information or personally sensitive data through CGSI’s Message Board via messages or research queries, this information may be collected and used by others. You are responsible for deleting any information you release on our Message Board via messages or research queries.

If you are a CGSI member and log in to the website, your personal email address and password are used to identify you to the website, and enable certain functions such as adding, editing, and interacting with CGSI data. They are also used to ensure the security of data added, modified, or deleted from the website.  If you do not log in to the website, CGSI does not collect any personal information about you, except if you purchase a product through the website.

Your personal email address may also be used for communications with CGSI about the following:

• Communication with other users
• General news and educational information
• Promotional events that may benefit your research
• Changes to this Privacy Notice

You may opt in or opt out of any of these communications at any time.

If you contact CGSI, we will use your information to respond to you regarding the reason you contacted us. CGSI will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill your request.

Any personally identifiable data is never sold, rented, or shared with other entities with the following exceptions:

• The minimally necessary amount of personally identifiable information is shared with CGSI’s billing partner Square in order to process your purchase if you choose to make a purchase through this website.
• CGSI may disclose your personal information, without notice, if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on CGSI; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of CGSI; and/or (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of CGSI, or the public.

Your personal data is stored only as long as you maintain an account with CGSI.

• The computers and servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.
• We have in place appropriate physical, electronic, technical, operational, and managerial procedures to protect all personal data both online and offline.
• We use encryption of data at rest and in transit (https) to protect all personal data.
• Our servers are accessible only to authorized personnel.
• All data access policies are based on a principle of least privilege.
• Computing best practices are reviewed regularly.

Unless otherwise barred by law, all disputes will be resolved under the laws of the state of Minnesota and the United States of America. European Union (EU) citizens may file any complaints about this Privacy Notice or terms of service with their relevant governing body.

Your information may be required in order for CGSI to deliver the goods or services you purchased from us or for you to enjoy goods, information, or services provided by us without purchase. If you request to change or delete your information, this may cause us to become unable to provide our goods and services to you. Our terms of service govern how we will resolve these conflicts.

We keep your information for as long as is necessary to continue providing you with our goods or services or for as long as we believe that you may wish to receive our goods or services in the future. We may delete your information at any time at our discretion and without notice.

You may contact CGSI via email for any data privacy inquiries or requests. EU citizens may request a record of their information, change or update their information, or request the deletion of their information. We will respond to your request within one month of receiving your written notice.

You have the option to purchase items from the online CGSI Shop. We request information from you on our order form. To buy from us, you must provide contact information (such as name and email address) and financial information (such as credit card number and expiration date). This information is used for billing purposes only.

We do not store any financial information. All financial information is stored by our billing partner Square. If there is any issue processing an order, we will use your email address to contact you.

We use "cookies" on this website. A cookie is a piece of data stored on your hard drive to help us improve your access to our website. For instance, when we use a cookie to identify you, you do not have to log in with a password more than once, thereby saving time while on our website. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information on our website.

CGSI is the sole owner of the information collected on this website. We only have access to or collect information that you voluntarily give us via email messages or other direct contact from you. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone.

CGSI does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If you are under the age of 13, you must ask your parent or guardian for permission to use this website.

CGSI reserves the right to change this Privacy Notice from time to time. We will notify you about significant changes in the way we treat personal information by sending a notice to the primary email address specified in your account, by placing a prominent notice on our website, and/or by updating any privacy information on this page.
