Description
I have some history on the Frank Martin Kocka family. Frank entered the USA in 1876 and declares Austrian decent. His wife was Barbara (Hosiat) Kocka, also Austrian. I have not been able to find Franks immigration/ship papers indicating where he actually came from. I believe that information would help me identify the city/town of his family.

Try to check the Hamburg passenger list, the one created in Hamburg, Germany (if he left from there). The passenger list created in Hamburg gives the last residence (not just the country). If his wife came separately, to join him later, check also for her and her last residence. You can find these lists on Ancestry website. If the indexed records do not show any results, search by browsing, under both, direct and indirect passenger lists, for the year of 1876, or for Barbara leave the year out and search under both of her names, married and maiden name. Sometimes, the siblings bring you to the right place. If Frank and Barbara did not come from Hamburg, her brother could come later (or earlier).
