My Grandparents’ name was Kucera (Eng: Kuchera). Two of my Gf’s half-sisters settled in the area of Hutchinson, MN sometime about 1870-80. The family originated in the s.e. Bohemia – Village of Borova near Policka. Has anyone come across these names? Would appreciate hearing from anyone who can help. Thanks.

My grandmother’s maiden name was Anna Muzik. (1871-1951) She married Frank Svec. They lived in Chicago and then Cicero. Her father was Joseph Muzik. That was also the name of her brother. Her mother was Barbara Brada. Her grandfather was Frank Muzik. I don’t know her ancestral village. I believe that she came to this country as a teenager, but haven’t been able to prove it as yet. Barbara died in 1922, but havn’t yet located death information about her father. I’m not sure if he immigrated.
