Commune in Vontay, VA

Seeking information about a group of Czechs from Chicago that formed a commune and farmed near Vontay, VA, from 1897-1900. Habenicht in Czechs in America, page 139, gives this info. My grandfather was the tailor. After it disbanded, my family remained in Richmond, VA, for 15 years before returning to IL. Does anyone know anything beyond Habenicht’s info?
