Franz Tichy to Russia

My maternal ancestor, Franz Tichy, arrived in old South Russia, Odessa district about 1817. He got married there, I have successfully traced the Tichy line from that point forward in time. But I do not know where he came from. I found a baptism record from Roznava which would fit, but how can I verify this is the same Franz Tichy.
