Miltary records of ancestor - Porac Slovakia

My ancestor lived in Porac Slovakia.

He was in the military at the time of his marriage in 1860. I assume he entered in the Military at the age of 20?? The birth year was 1830, so the records should be between 1850-1860. I have read that some military records might be in the Vienna archives. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi, Military records are problematic. However, your records may actually be located in the Levoca State Archive.

They have some military records based on conscription rolls. I was able to locate my own ancestors by their birth date.

I have ancestry from the former Spis County and have done extensive personal work. Also, I spent a year on a Fulbright Scholarship studying migration and researching records in Churches and this particular archive.
