I am searching for my ggg-grf…last name is Vrazel (or Vrasil, Vrzal). Grf – George Emil Vrazel (b.1890 – d.1965) (Texas) M. – Ida Marie Hardcastle G-Grf – Joseph John Vrazel (b.1860/62 – d.1928) (Texas) M. – Mathilda Faltisek (Faltysek, Faltjisek) GG-Grf – John Joseph Vrazel (b.1835 – d.1903) (I believe he was born in Novy Hrozenkov, Vsetin, North Moravia, Czech Republic) (Immigrated to Fayette County, Texas in 1873??) M. – Anna Orsak GGG-Grf – Josef Vrazel (b.1805 – ) (Novy Hrozenkov, Vsetin, North Moravia, Czech Republic) M. – Anna Zbranek GGGG-Grf – Martin Vrazel (I believe!) (b.04-Oct-1780 – d.23-Jul-1821) M. – Anna (Roziana) Prihodova

I am not 100% certain all is correct, but I have searched numerous websites (CGSI, My True Ancestry, My Heritage, Family Tree and one or two others) … but I am not finding any documentation on birth, marriage or deaths. I was able to find their names on Beca’s Passenger List, but cannot find anything other than names.

I have spent several years doing this research and am able to find my mothers side (Babb, Alder) and have gone way back with them … I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to find info on my father’s side. Unfortunately he and majority of his siblings have passed, so no individuals to seek information from.

Thanks so much for any help you can provide!

Hello Dona Lynn,

Please, check the Regional Archives in Opava, Czech Republic. Here is the link https://www.archives.cz/web/digitalni_archiv/. Click on Matriky and choose location Novy Hrozenkov. First, look for Indexes, such as I-N (Index Narozenych - Birth Index) and I-O (Index Oddanych - Marriage Index).

You can join us for one of the Czech and Slovak virtual discussion sessions, which will be happening quarterly, and how to access various Czech regional archives may be demonstrated at these online meetings. Here is the link to the first one https://cgsi.org/events/cgsi-czech-slovak-research-discussion-group-onl…

Thank you.
