Halušky Festival Windsor is more than a food festival—it is a joyful celebration of Slovak heritage, community, and connection. Bringing the rich traditions of Slovakia to Windsor-Essex County, the festival celebrates the stories, flavours, music, and traditions passed down through generations. 

Rooted in the experiences of Slovak immigrants and their families, Halušky Festival Windsor brings together Slovak Canadians, food lovers, families, friends, and the diverse communities that make our region unique for a day filled with authentic cuisine, entertainment, and cultural pride.

At the heart of Halušky Festival Windsor is bryndzové halušky—Slovakia’s beloved national dish made with tender potato dumplings, tangy sheep cheese (bryndza),
and crispy bacon. Born from the simple traditions of shepherd life in the Slovak mountains, halušky represents resilience, hospitality, and the importance of
gathering around the table.

Today, it represents something even greater—a shared experience that connects generations, cultures, and communities one delicious bite at a time.
