Description

I am researching the above names. They are all from the Bohemia and surrounding area. I have not pinpointed the exact areas. They came over around the late 1800’s and settled in the St. Louis, Missouri area and they attended St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church. My Filip's were from Rakovnik District in Central Bohemia, and they settled in the St. Louis, MO area.  I am not familiar with the name Prokopec/Prokopetz

Hello Carolyn:

My name is Marilyn Vydra and I live in Springfield, MO.

My husband’s mother’s name was Ann Matejka. Her mother was Mary (Marie) Ocenasak (sp?) and her father was John Matejka.

They belonged to St. John Nepomecine (sp?) Parish in Cleveland, OH…but not St. Louis…not sure if this is a connection or not.
