7th Annual "První máj" May Day & Pole Raising [festival]

When:  Sunday, May 4, 2025 at 12:00pm - 5:00pm (CDT)
Where:   Heritage Park, corner of First (Main) Street & Vine Avenue, Montgomery, Minnesota

Czech May Day celebration.  Entertainment included - St. Paul Czech and Slovak Adult Dancers & Sokol MN Children Dancers.

Traditional raising of the May pole with ribbon dances following.  Music provided by the Czech Area Concertina Club.

Plenty of street for your dancing pleasure.  Children's activities: face painting, sidewalk chalk, Wing painting.  Czech merchandise and genealogy.

Czech Foods available provided by the Miss Czech-Slovak MN Pageant (dumplings, kraut, gravy) and Halusky and/or goulash; Veseli Area Lions famous vomacka and zelinky; Czech hotdogs, Pivo (Czechvar) and pop/water. Czech bakery featuring kolacky.

Limited seating, so please bring your own lawn chairs.  Vendors include the Czech Heritage Club, Mirwood Cottage, Sokol MN, Posy Floral, Czech Sis Kitchen, Real Good Provisions, and Udder Buddies Ice Cream.

Everyone is invited.  This is a family-oriented event.
