Each year, CGSI member volunteers are actively engaged in numerous society activities to:

respond to genealogical research requests received from many members and others
- maintain, catalog, and receive new materials for the CGSI Research Collection located in Minnesota
- provide complimentary research assistance in-person at the CGSI Research Collection on the first Saturday of each month
- publish quarterly issues of CGSI's well-respected journal Naše rodina ("Our Family" in Czech and Slovak languages)
- receive, catalog, and upload written family histories, and audio, video, and other educational materials in the online CGSI Digital Library accessible by members

organize quarterly programs / webinars with presentations by CGSI members and external speakers from around the world
- deliver the quarterly programs live via the internet (through remote meeting software), as well as upload to CGSI.org afterwards for members' access via recorded video format
- travel to and provide a presence at many ethnic events and festivals featuring the very popular CGSI Traveling Library and CGSI information & sales table
- maintain and keep the new state-of-the-art CGSI.org website updated with news, events, latest genealogical items of interest, and educational research content

promote and market an active presence, interactive sharing, and communication on social media via CGSI's Facebook page, along with a CGSI Blog and a Message Board via our website, and our periodic eNews electronic newsletter
- process membership requests and fulfill CGSI online Shop order shipments to members and others
- conduct the annual CGSI membership meeting and election of officers, committee chairpersons, and directors
- plan and organize a biennial symposium centered around current and relevant genealogical, historical, and cultural topics

organize, select speakers, plan, schedule, and present CGSI's biennial four-day Genealogical and Cultural Conference held in a location with significant descendant population of the ethnic groups of Czech and Slovak heritage
