C-RS presents "How One Rusyn Helped Shape The World: Gregory Ignatius Zhatkovych" (webinar)
Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at 6:30pm – 7:30pm (EDT)
Where: on your computer, tablet, or smartphone (via live online webinar)
Carpatho-Rusyn Society (C-RS) is proud to present "How One Rusyn Helped Shape The World: Gregory Ignatius Zhatkovych" in celebration of Carpatho-Rusyn Day in North America (Presented virtually via Zoom - join from anywhere!)
Celebrate Rusyn Day by joining us to learn about Gregory Zhatkovych, a Pittsburgh-based lawyer of Rusyn lineage who helped create Czechoslovakia and the inclusion of Subcarpthian Rus'/Ruthenia into that new country.
We will use a book/video book club model for this experience.
Before the session, we ask you to view a video from the Carpatho-Rusyn Research Center’s Summer Seminar Series: Gregory Zhatkovych by Prof. Dr. Paul Robert Magosci (Click here for the video, which runs approximately 1 hour, 12 minutes) and read an article by Professor Magosci: The Fellow Who Made Himself President of a European Republic: Gregory Ignatius Zhatkovych (Click here for the article.)
We will then come together virtually to have a discussion of the video and the article with Professor Magosci. Bring your questions and observations so that you can be part of this exciting event and gain perspective and knowledge from Dr. Magosci.
To join the Zoom discussion, click here on October 26 just prior to 6:30 p.m. The program and discussion will last approximately one hour.
We look forward to your participation!
