The Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Chicago would like to invite you to the annual Czech That Film festival 2021.

The annual Czech film festival titled “Czech That Film” was established in 2012. Currently, it is the largest Czech cultural event in the United States. It is a film festival of best recent Czech films held throughout the United States every year, with a range of screenings and discussion with cast and crew. Due to the Covid-19 situation, this 10th edition of the Czech That Film will take place ONLINE from April 24 to May 2, 2021.

Celebrating its 10th edition this year, Czech That Film traveling series unveils an exciting lineup of epic proportions – featuring 16 films of diverse genres, virtually reaching the whole North America, featuring “Havel”, a vibrant biodramedy about Václav Havel, the prominent Czech playwright, human rights activist turned the first president of Czechoslovakia after the fall of Communism.

The 10th anniversary feast of films is jam-packed with a broad assortment of films released in 2019-2020, ranging from Emmy winning TV show “Marty is Dead”, Academy Award nominated and Sundance winner animated short “Daughter”, to Oscar shortlisted “Charlatan” directed by legendary Prague-educated Polish director Agnieszka Holland. Film enthusiasts will have the opportunity to enjoy altogether five feature films, two TV series, four documentaries, one music video, and four animated shorts. All films are with English subtitles.
