About Our Guests
Professor Marta Botikova (Comenius University, Bratislava, SK) – Professor Botikova currently lectures at the Department of Ethnology. She dedicated her life and professional career to studying the history and culture of our ancestors, including the customs and accompanying calendar and family holidays, migration, and gender. Her work spans ethnology and anthropology.
Silvia Letavajova, PhD (University of Constantine the Philosopher, Nitra, SK) – Dr. Letavajova specializes in the traditional culture, migration, and minorities of Slovakia. She has published extensively on these topics. Dr. Letavajova is an associate professor at the Department of Culture and Tourism Management, University of Constantine the Philosopher in Nitra, Slovakia.
Bake with Lenka – Lenka was born and raised in Slovakia. She remembers helping her mom and grandma run around the oven ever since she could first hold a kitchen tool in her hand. Lenka is the founder of the culinary blog Wandering Senses and a baking instructor.
Cook Slovak – Jarmila is an English teacher, a mother of three grown-up children, and a wife. She holds a degree in Chemistry and has always loved experimenting – in a laboratory and beyond. Jarmila is the author of a series of books about Slovak cuisine. Her project Cook Slovak goes beyond recipes, bringing not just food, but also the history and culture of Slovakia to readers.
