The NGS 2021 Family History Conference is our forty-third annual conference, and the second year we have offered our entire program virtually. The NGS conference committee has created a powerful program of virtual events for individual family historians, societies, and organizations that stretch over five days, 17-21 May 2021. Our presenters will help you advance your research by offering techniques and resources to discover your roots and build your family tree. During the conference, we will also collaborate with society leaders, librarians, and archivists to share ideas and strengthen our genealogical community.

The week starts off on Monday, 17 May with the Delegate Council Kickoff Workshop for NGS member organization delegates. Tuesday, 18 May is the SLAM! Idea Showcase for society leaders, librarians, archivists, and museum staff who serve genealogists.

The main event, NGS 2021 Live!, is Wednesday and Thursday, 19‒20 May. This two-day virtual conference allows attendees to benefit from presentations by nationally recognized speakers, including Elizabeth Shown Mills, Thomas W. Jones, Barbara Vines Little, Judy Russell, Eric Grundset, Craig Scott, Janice Lovelace, and more. Don’t miss our live-interaction with speakers, be the first to hear about the NGS Award winners, find out about the latest genealogy-related products and services from our expo hall exhibitors, and perhaps even be one of our prize winners! Program content will include bonus lectures provided by sponsoring organizations. Download a PDF copy of the program for a full list of sessions.

The week ends with Focus on Societies on Friday, 21 May. This all-day event is devoted to virtual presentations by experts on topics that can help advise how to manage and grow your genealogical or historical society.

NGS On-demand 2021

In June, NGS will offer more opportunities for family historians to learn from subject matter experts with NGS 2021 On-Demand, a lecture series that you will be able to stream by choosing up to an additional 85+ sessions directly to your computer.

Registration has closed for the NGS 2021 Family History Conference virtual week of events. On-demand content, including the sessions from NGS Live!, will be available for purchase soon at playbackngs.com.
