Piha

Am looking for the ancestral village of my GGM, Rosalia Picha, assuming from southern Bohemia. Born around 1859 to Frank and Marie Picha and emigrated around age 15 to southern Minnesota possibly with brother Joe who settled in Chicago. Married Jacob Bastyr in 1875, who died of typhoid fever when Rosalia was pregnant with their 3rd daughter. Then married my GGF Joseph Dvorak in 1880 and they had 5 more children in the Wheatland, Rice Co, MN and New Prague, MN areas. She died in 1943 in Lonsdale, MN.

Just found out from her funeral record that she was from Visny…now to figure out which one!

Found her in Visny, Hamr/Tabor! The surname correct spelling is Piha.
