My Great Grandmother was born in Ujezdu svateho Krize, which is in Rokycany District. Her name was Louisa Schilling. Her father: John Schilling. They emigrated to the USA in 1870 and lived in Brooklyn, NY where they were employed as cigar makers. Later the family relocated to West Springfield, MA where they continued in the cigar making trade. Any info would be appreciated!

Hello, I am descended from Bohemian cigar makers who started in Brooklyn circa 1870. They eventually moved to West Springfield MA and continued making cigars. One of the companies was the Huck Cigar Company in Westfield MA. My family names were Schilling and Brinker, both families involved in the trade.
There was an enclave of Bohemians living in the america neighborhood in West Springfield. I have not been able to find much info by searching g the web. Just wondering if anyone else has family connections here as well.
