Searching for information on my Grandfather John Major (Mayer, Meyer)
Born 1889 – 1890 in Czechoslovakia
Mother – Josephine Otis
Father – Josef Major (farmer)
Brother – Vaclav (later became a US Citizen)
He had a sister (name unknown)
Places they may have lived: Ujezd Svateho Krize, Svaty Kriz
Rokycanny
Pilzen
Chicago
Australia

After leaving school he went to (Germany)? to learn to be a piano tuner
He travelled to Chicago where he lived and worked as a piano tuner for five or more years
He later travelled to Australia where he married and settled down
He married in Australia in 1922 at age 32 years (?) and died in 1958
