Title

Czechoslovak Christmas Traditions

Body

Christmas in the Czech Republic is celebrated on Christmas Eve, December 24. "Štědrý den" literally translates to “Generous Day” a day for festive traditions, including – tree decorating, carols, presents, fairytales for the kids, and the favorite part: preparing and eating the traditional Czech Christmas food!

Many of the old folk customs, religious events, and family traditions continue today. The Czechs emphasize bringing joy to children and feasting on customary dishes of the season.
