Stepanka Korytova Magstadt, Ph.D., a Czech native, earned her degrees in England, the USA, and the Czech Republic. Among her primary scholarly interests are migration, social justice, and human trafficking. Her To Reap a Bountiful Harvest: Migration of Czechs Beyond the Mississippi River, 1850-1900 is the first scholarly work on Czech presence in the U.S. Her other publications resulted from her research in the field of migration, human trafficking, and from her collaboration with the Director of the Middle Way House, a domestic violence shelter in Bloomington, Indiana.
