Evelyn Funda
Evelyn Funda, PhD is author of the memoir Weeds: A Farm Daughter’s Lament, which traces her family’s immigration from Bohemia and Moravia to a small farm in southwestern Idaho. Drawing upon her experience of sorting through possessions in her parents’ home after their deaths, Evelyn has previously taught numerous workshops on “reading” family artifacts as something full of potential historical and personal meaning. A professor emeritus of American literature, she has also published widely on agrarian culture and author Willa Cather’s interest in Czech culture.
