Need ideas to locate birthplace and date for a Richard Jacob Kroupa. Some loose records indicate New Haven Conn. and lower Manhatten. The birthdate could be in February, 1856. There is a record of applicaton for an emigrant passport for his father Phillipp and mother Anna in 1854 in Domazlice, Bohemia. I have found them in New Yorks 1860 Census living in lower Manhatten. They were Catholic. Phillip had a jewelry shop and was a watchmaker. Richard Jacob, a son, was a chemist, and lived in Utah for many years dieing in Salt Lake City. Woud also like to find out the boat they took probably from Germany to our East coast/
