Franz Friedl ancestry

Looking to find info on great-grandfather who arrived from Bohemia in 1880 per Leo Baca. Is there a source in Prague?

Hello Charles,

Of course, there are sources, but you need to know to which regional or Prague archive to look for records. First, you need to find the place your ancestor originated (region, town, village, parish). The records are not centralized - they are kept locally. Do you already know the place? Did your ancestor lived in Prague? There are conscriptions (permissions to live-residence permits), Jewish records, etc. If you don't know the place, start from the US sources. Check the CGSI Digital Library and YouTube videos for presentations to various subjects, including Beginning Genealogy class. Thank you. yvegen
